About Us

Paul has been designing structural systems for buildings since 2004 where he began his career focusing mainly on wood frame construction and small commercial developments. Since that time Paul has been in responsible charge of projects ranging from small tenant improvements to seismic retrofits and ultimately $60,000,000 mid-rise mixed use projects. Paul has acted as the lead engineer and Structural Engineer of Record on a variety of projects throughout his career. He is well versed in all four major building materials; wood, steel, concrete, and masonry. Particularly steel, Paul has engineered several steel frame structures including the Special Moment Resisting Frame Argyos Forum expansion at Chapman University, the Special Concentric Braced Frame science building at Cal State San Marcos, and the renowned steel framed Our Lady Queen of Angels church in Newport Beach, Ca.

Prior to starting his own practice, Paul managed the Orange County design office of Brandow & Johnston, Inc., a well-respected Southern California structural engineering firm. Since that time, his focus shifted to the nuclear industry; within which Paul was involved with seismic probabilistic risk assessments, seismic fragility analysis, seismic margin assessments, experience-based seismic qualification methods, and probabilistic seismic response analysis of structures. During this time, Paul focused on honing his seismic analysis skill set.

Of course, its the commitment to the clients that matters. The varied background provides the skills needed to provide efficient and cost effective solutions to structural engineering challenges while still meeting your architectural goals. The small size of the firm provides the direct relationship with the client and project that provides the highest level of collaboration between engineer, designer, and owner. Let’s get in touch and begin making your project a reality.
